What the published rates mean on a superyacht
At this length the rate structure changes. The day charter — eight to ten hours in Phang Nga Bay or to Phi Phi with a chef aboard — is published in baht and includes the crew of eight to twelve, fuel for the route, the chef's lunch and the toys the boat marks as included; it is the format for a wedding, a company day or a landmark birthday for forty to eighty guests, and it is what the card on this page shows. The multi-day and weekly charters are published separately, in some cases in dollars, and follow the international convention: the charter fee covers the yacht and the crew, and an Advance Provisioning Allowance of 25 to 30 per cent is paid on top for fuel, food, drink, berthing and park fees, with the balance returned at the end.

Itineraries: Phang Nga Bay in a day, the Similans in a week
The day itinerary from Yacht Haven or Ao Po is Phang Nga Bay: the limestone towers of Koh Hong and Koh Panak, the hongs entered by canoe from the tender, lunch at anchor behind Koh Yao Noi and the run home at five. The two-night itinerary adds Phi Phi — the lagoon of Phi Phi Leh before the ferries, a night at anchor off Bamboo Island — and Racha Noi on the way back for the clearest water within fifty miles of Phuket. The week is the Similan and Surin islands, 60 to 100 miles north-west of Phuket: the park is open from mid-October to mid-May, the dive sites of Richelieu Rock and Koh Bon are in their season, and a superyacht is the only way to be there at dawn and still have a chef.

The yachts, the crews and the toys
The 7 yachts span 92 to 170 ft and three generations of build: a classic 92-ft motor yacht refitted for charter, modern flybridge yachts of 98 to 106 ft from Turkish and Italian yards, a 130-ft American tri-deck and the 170-ft flagship with a crew of twenty and a licence for 80 by day. Cabins run from five to eight with the master on the main deck; the crew includes a chef on every boat and a dive master or water-sports instructor on most.
