Пхукет-Таун's hotels are boutique in the Old Town and business-oriented outside it. In the shophouse grid the addresses are renovated heritage buildings — The Memory at On On Hotel, the island's oldest, Casa Blanca on Phuket Road — plus a dozen small guesthouses and a good stock of hostels for backpackers and remote workers. Beyond the grid, the chain hotels serve business travellers: Courtyard by Marriott Phuket Town and mid-range hotels near the malls and the bus terminal.
That mix produces one of the lowest three-star medians on the island and an all-classes figure well under the island's, with no five-star sample at all: there are no beach resorts and no beach.
