Two series, one for the national reference and one for the island. The Bangkok line is the Energy Policy and Planning Office's Table 9 — the monthly weighted-average retail price of each product in the capital, THB per litre, which is the series Thai media and the oil companies quote — and it runs from January 2019 to June 2026. The Phuket line is built from PTT Oil and Retail Business's posted price history for Phuket province: every price change PTT posts for its stations on the island, carried forward day by day and averaged over the calendar month, from January 2022 to August 2026. Gasohol 95 is the grade almost every rental scooter and most cars take; E20 is cheaper and accepted by most cars built after 2008; diesel B7 is the grade sold without interruption through the B10 years, so it is the comparable diesel series.
In August 2026 a litre of gasohol 95 in Phuket averaged 37.01 THB; diesel B7 37.59 THB and E20 32.01 THB. The latest PTT posting for Phuket, dated 2 September 2026, is 38.29 THB for gasohol 95 and 39.14 for diesel — a posting is a day's price, the table below is a month's mean. The Bangkok–Phuket gap is smaller than most visitors expect: across the 53 months in which both series exist, Phuket gasohol 95 averaged -0.07 THB against Bangkok and diesel -0.06 THB, because the posted PTT price is set nationally with a small regional transport component. The record high of the Bangkok series is 45.23 THB in June 2022 and the low 17.57 THB in April 2020.
The arithmetic is simple once the assumptions are written down, so here they are. A 125 cc rental scooter uses about 2.5 litres per 100 km; at 500 km a month — a daily commute across the island plus weekend beaches — that is 12.5 litres, or 463 THB at the August 2026 gasohol 95 price (344 THB at the June 2019 Bangkok price). A compact rental car at 8 L/100 km and 1,000 km a month burns 80 litres, 2,961 THB a month. Set against the scooter rental medians on the rentals index page, fuel is the smaller half of the monthly cost of a scooter and a rounding error against the cost of a car.
Two things the series does not cover. Roadside bottle vendors on the beach roads sell petrol from one-litre bottles at a margin over the pump price — convenient, but not a price this page records — and the small independent stations in the villages sometimes post a few satang above PTT. Both are noise around the PTT line, which is why the PTT posting is the reference for the island. Prices change on the day the oil companies announce them, usually with a day's notice and often several times a month in a volatile year; the monthly mean smooths that, and the CSV carries every month for anyone who wants the raw series.
Thailand sets its minimum wage province by province through notifications of the Wage Committee, published in the Royal Gazette by the Ministry of Labour, and Phuket has been in the top band for as long as the modern series exists. The table lists every notification that applied to the province since 1 June 2008: 10 changes of the daily rate, from 197 THB to 400 THB. The 300-THB rate that the 2011 government promised nationwide reached Phuket first, on 1 April 2012, with Bangkok and its five neighbouring provinces; the rest of the country followed on 1 January 2013. Phuket then moved to 310 (2017), 330 (2018, with Chonburi and Rayong), 336 (2020), 354 (October 2022), 370 (January 2024 — the only province at that rate) and 400 from 1 January 2025.
Between those steps sits a sector rule worth knowing: from 13 April 2024 a 400-THB minimum applied to hotels of four-star class and above with fifty or more employees in ten tourism areas including the whole of Phuket, nine months before the general rate caught up. At the customary 26 paid days a month the current rate is 10,400 THB, +21.2% above the 330 THB of 2019 and +33.3% above the 300 THB of 2013. For a visitor the number explains the island's price floor: a massage, a plate of noodles or a scooter wash is priced by people earning at or a little above this rate, and the fact that Phuket's floor is the highest in the country is one reason the island is dearer than Krabi or Khao Lak across the bay. The rate does not apply to government employees, and most hotel and restaurant staff on the island earn above it with service charge; it is a floor, not an average — the Ministry of Tourism's spend-per-day figures on the statistics hub are the other side of the same economy.
Phuket is served by the Provincial Electricity Authority, and a household bill has four parts. The energy charge follows schedule 1.1.2 of the residential tariff for consumption above 150 kWh a month, in force since November 2015: 1–150 kWh 3.2484, 151–400 kWh 4.2218, 401–∞ kWh 4.4217 THB per kWh, plus a service charge of 24.62 THB a month. On top of that comes the Ft — the fuel-adjustment charge that the Energy Regulatory Commission resets every four months (January–April, May–August, September–December) to pass through gas and coal prices and the utilities' accumulated losses — and then VAT at 7% on the whole. The Ft is where the bill moves: -15.32 satang per kWh in Jan–Dec 2021 against 93.43 in Sep–Apr 2023, the energy-crisis peak when the government split the residential and business rates.
For the villa this site uses as its reference — pool villa with air-conditioning, 800 kWh a month, the profile of a three-bedroom pool villa with the air-conditioning on at night — the bill in September 2026 at an Ft of 16.23 satang is 3,708 THB (4.64 THB per kWh all-in), against 3,704 THB in the same month a year earlier and 3,470 THB in the same month of 2019. The same villa paid 4,369 THB a month at the Sep–Apr 2023 Ft and 3,438 THB at the Jan–Dec 2021 Ft — a spread of 931 THB for the same electricity. A one-bedroom condo, 300 kWh a month pays 1,277 THB in the same month. Long-stay tenants should read one more line of their contract: many villas and most condominium buildings bill electricity at a landlord's rate of 6–8 THB per kWh rather than the PEA tariff, which at 800 kWh is a difference of several thousand baht a month; the PEA figure on this page is the honest floor to negotiate against.
The Bangkok fuel series is re-read from the EPPO statistics file on the 5th of every month, the Phuket series from the PTT OR history on the same day; both are recomputed in full because both sources revise. EPPO publishes a month about five weeks after it ends, so the Bangkok line usually trails the Phuket line by a month or two, and a year is averaged only when all twelve months exist — the current year is shown as a year-to-date mean with its month count. The minimum-wage table is edited by hand from each new Wage Committee notification, with the notification number and date in the row; the Ft table is the published schedule and is extended when the ERC announces the next period, which is why the bill series can run a few months ahead of today. Nothing is forecast: a month without a published Ft has no bill.

Gasohol 95 averaged 37.01 THB a litre at PTT stations in Phuket in August 2026; E20 32.01 THB, diesel B7 37.59 THB. The latest posted PTT price (2 September 2026) is 38.29 THB for gasohol 95. Phuket runs 0.07 THB below the Bangkok monthly average over 53 overlapping months.
About 463 THB a month at the August 2026 gasohol 95 price, assuming 125 cc scooter, 2.5 L/100 km, 500 km a month (12.5 litres). A compact car, 8 L/100 km, 1,000 km a month needs 80 litres, about 2,961 THB. Beach-road bottle vendors charge more than the pump; the figure uses the PTT price.
400 THB a day since 1 January 2025 (Wage Committee No. 14 (17 Jun 2025)), 10,400 THB at 26 paid days — the highest band in Thailand. It was 330 THB in 2019 and 300 THB in 2013 (+33.3% since).
3,708 THB in September 2026 for pool villa with air-conditioning, 800 kWh a month under the PEA residential tariff (schedule 1.1.2, service charge 24.62 THB) with the Ft at 16.23 satang/kWh and 7% VAT — 4.64 THB per kWh all-in. A 300-kWh condo pays 1,277 THB. Landlords who bill at 6–8 THB per kWh charge well above this.
The Ft is the fuel-adjustment charge added to the base energy rate, set by the Energy Regulatory Commission for four-month periods. For May–Dec 2026 it is 16.23 satang per kWh. It ranged from -15.32 (Jan–Dec 2021) to 93.43 satang (Sep–Apr 2023) over 2019–2026; the same Ft applies to PEA customers in Phuket and MEA customers in Bangkok.
