Surin Beach is 800 m of sand in 수린, open to the south-west monsoon, lifeguarded in daylight, reached by 도로 free of charge. Best months to swim: November–April; rip-current risk from May to October: high. Good for swimming, quiet, snorkelling, sunset.
수린 is eight hundred metres of sand backed by casuarinas and steeper than 방따오 to the north: the sand drops fast into deep water, which makes for excellent swimming in the high season and a dumping shore-break in the wet. It has been cleared twice — in 2016, when the beach clubs and restaurants that lined the sand were demolished, and again in 2025, when the vendors, chairs and loungers that had crept back were moved across the beach road, leaving the sand as bare as it was decades ago. The trade-off is fewer facilities on the beach itself; the hotels and restaurants of 수린 are a road's width away. Between May and October the profile means the water is over your head within a few steps on rough days and the red flags matter more here than almost anywhere; lifeguards patrol in daylight. Pansea, the cove over the northern headland, is the hotels' beach.
