Phuket price index, Q3 2026: what changed
Every figure below was measured on a fixed date and is reproduced here unchanged. Where a series has no observation for Q3 2026, the row says so instead of showing a number.

Medians in US dollars; P25–P75 is the middle half of the observations. This is the first report of the index: there is no earlier period to compare with, so every change column is empty by design. An em-dash means the series had no publishable median for this period. Phuket Travel Price Index · measured 2026年9月.

What moved in Q3 2026
This is the first report of the index, so there is no earlier period to measure against: every figure below is a level, not a change, and the comparison columns are empty on purpose. Every figure is a median of observations collected on fixed dates by the same method for every area and every segment, published with its sample size; a segment with fewer than five observations gets no median at all, which is why some rows in the tables below are blank rather than rounded down to something plausible.
The headline series is a 4-star hotel night, island-wide: $62 in Q3 2026 across 210 properties, with the middle half of the market between $41 and $134. Around it: $50 for a hotel night of any class, $3,975 for a three-bedroom villa by the month, $24 for the airport taxi counter to an average area, $36 for a mid-level day per person without accommodation, and $63 for the Phi Phi day tour. A 125 cc scooter was $9 a day.
All 22 island series reached the minimum sample of five observations in Q3 2026, so every row in the table below carries a median.
Where on the island
The cheapest area for a 4-star night in Q3 2026 was 芭东 at $42 (n = 10), the dearest 迈考 at $231 (n = 15) — a spread of 5.5× across 15 areas of one island. The gap is the single most useful number in the report for anyone choosing where to stay: it is larger than the difference between the low and the high season in almost any one area, so the choice of coast decides the bill more than the choice of month does.
A three-bedroom villa by the month ran from $2,694 in 奈扬 to $4,947 in 拉扬, with an island median of $3,975 across 125 listings.
No area has a previous observation to compare with in this report, so the table shows levels only. Once a second period exists, the same table will carry a change column for each of the 15 areas.
The exchange rate, and what it does to these prices
The dollar bought 33.34 baht at the end of 2026年9月; against the baht the South Korean won gained the most (+14.9%) and the Russian ruble lost the most (−7.5%). Every price in this report is measured in US dollars, so a visitor paying in another currency should read the exchange table as a second, independent movement on top of the index.
Consumer prices in Phuket province stood at 103.7 on the 2023 = 100 index in 2026年7月, +3.7% year on year against +1.9% for Thailand as a whole. The group that moved most was food and non-alcoholic beverages at +8.0%. The CPI is what residents pay across the whole basket; the index on this site is what a visitor pays for a specific night, ride or day, and the two do not have to agree.
Demand behind the prices
Ministry of Tourism and Sports figures for Q3 2026 are not published yet — the provincial reports run six to ten weeks behind. The most recent month on file is 2026年7月: 1,135,382 visitors, occupancy 74.2%.
Airports of Thailand publishes HKT passenger tables once a year, so Q3 2026 is not available. The last month on file is 2025年12月 with 1,837,173 passengers.
Phuket recorded 491 mm of rain over 71 rain days in Q3 2026 against a 2015–2025 normal of 820 mm (−40.1%), 863 hours of sunshine against 804, a mean daily maximum of 30.9 °C against 28.9 °C, and 30 rough-sea days against 33.
Rules and definitions
No dated rule change — visa, entry fee or transport tariff — is recorded in the dataset for Q3 2026. This section stays empty rather than repeating news: a rule appears here only when a dated fact for it exists in the data behind the site.
How to read the report: prices are medians in US dollars, not averages, so one very expensive property cannot pull a figure up; "P25–P75" is the middle half of the observations, the honest way to describe a market that has no single price; "n" is how many observations the median rests on. Hotels are priced per night for a stay thirty days ahead, villas per month for a thirty-night stay, transfers per car unless the segment says per person, and a day of living excludes accommodation. The full protocol, including what is excluded and why, is on the methodology page; every external source with its licence is on the sources page.
This snapshot was built on 2026年10月2日 from data that already existed on that date and is not edited afterwards. If a source later revises a figure, the revision appears in the next report rather than silently changing this one — that is what makes the series comparable at all.
Questions about these reports
How much did a hotel night in Phuket cost in Q3 2026?
The island median for a 4-star night was $62 across 210 properties, with the middle half of the market between $41 and $134. A 3-star night was $34 and a 5-star night $141. This is the first period of the index, so there is no change against an earlier month yet.
Which part of Phuket was cheapest in Q3 2026?
芭东, at $42 for a 4-star night (n = 10); the dearest was 迈考 at $231, 5.5× more. For a villa by the month the cheapest area was 奈扬 at $2,694.
Did prices in Phuket rise or fall in Q3 2026?
Neither can be said yet: Q3 2026 is the first period the index measured, so there is no earlier period to compare with. Every figure in this report is a level. The next report carries the first real change columns.
Where do these numbers come from?
From the Phuket Travel Price Index itself — medians of observations collected on fixed dates for every area and segment, published with sample sizes, plus four public datasets used as context: Trade Policy and Strategy Office, Ministry of Commerce (Thailand); Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Thailand; Airports of Thailand; Open-Meteo (ERA5), 2015–2026. Nothing in this report is estimated, modelled or filled in from a neighbouring area: a period without an observation shows an em-dash. The snapshot behind the page was built on 2026年10月2日.
