Nai Thon is a small national-park bay with one of the island's most famous hotels and not much else, and the index reflects that: the samples are small and only the four-star row reaches the minimum for a median. Trisara, on the headland to the south, is a villa resort with its own cove and prices to match; Pullman Phuket Arcadia stands on the northern headland above the bay; Naithonburi Beach Resort is the mid-range hotel on the beach road.
The shophouse row has a few guesthouses and small hotels that are the district's only budget option, and there are no hostels. With perhaps a few hundred rooms in total, Nai Thon fills quickly in the high season and its rates move more than those of a larger district. Villas sit on the hills at both ends of the bay and inland along the roads to Layan and the airport, mostly private-pool houses in small estates; condominiums barely exist. Choose it for the beach and the quiet, and book early — supply, not demand, sets the price here.
Pale, fine sand in a sheltered national-park bay with easy high-season swimming and some of the best from-the-beach snorkelling on the west coast at the northern rocks; Banana Beach is a short walk over the southern headland. In the wet season waves come straight in, the shore-break dumps and red flags go up, with fewer lifeguards than on resort beaches.
