Mai Khao's hotels are almost all large four- and five-star resorts spaced far apart along eleven kilometres of national-park beach. JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa was the first and anchors the southern cluster near Turtle Village and the Splash Jungle water park; Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas, Sala Phuket and Renaissance Phuket Resort & Spa are spread north along the beach road, with a Marriott vacation club alongside.
There is no resort town, no strip and no hostel; the few guesthouses and small hotels are in the villages inland, which is why the three-star sample is too small for a median and why the all-classes figure for Mai Khao sits so far above the island's.
