The purpose-built Muay Thai stadium behind Bangla Road, and the easiest place on the island to see real fights: a card of eight to ten bouts from children's and amateur fights up to ranked Thai professionals and the foreign fighters from the Chalong and Rawai gyms. Tickets are about 1,500–1,600 THB for stadium seats and 1,900–2,000 THB ringside, sold online and by every tout in Patong. Patong Boxing Stadium on Sai Nam Yen Road is the older rival with a similar card. For training rather than watching, the gyms in Chalong sell drop-in classes for a fraction of the price.

The 400-metre strip between the beach road and Rat-U-Thit Road that is Patong's, and the island's, nightlife: closed to traffic after dark, lined with open-front bars, go-go bars, a few big clubs (Illuzion is the largest) and touts with ping-pong show menus. Walking it costs nothing and is a spectacle in itself; drinks inside are the most expensive on the island and shows are best avoided. It is neon, loud, and not for children after dark. The beer bars on the side sois are calmer. Bangla Boxing Stadium and Simon Cabaret are ten minutes away for a different sort of evening.

The island's original cabaret show, running since 1991 in a 600-seat theatre on the Karon road out of Patong: a 70-minute revue of lip-synced showstoppers with a transgender cast in the costumes the posters promise. Regular seats sell for around 700–800 THB and VIP for about 1,000–1,200 THB including hotel transfer, depending on the reseller. Photography is banned inside; the cast poses for tipped photos outside afterwards. It is family-friendly in the way a Vegas revue is, and it is the one Patong evening that does not involve Bangla Road.
